So this whole new years resolution thing is for the birds.
I’m all for making changes. A new year. A new start. But it seems like everyone throws out unrealistic resolutions and then when they don’t meet them- no change at all.
“Oh well, I didn’t do it. Back to my old ways”
That’s why I think this year, I’ll do it a little bit differently.
I’m going to do some things that will bring about change on their own.
I’ve volunteered with the Ace of Hearts Animal Shelter. Apparently they don’t have enough people to walk their dogs. I will walk their dogs with the biggest smile on my face ever. How could this not change my life?
I have to stop concentrating on food so much.
As in, what am I going to have for breakfast… that was good… what am I going to do for lunch… mmmm Chipotle… what should I make for dinner…
Eat when you are hungry. Eat when you are hungry. Stop eating because you are bored and it’s yummy. Eat when you are hungry. Stop filling the void of family and friends with cheese. Eat when you are hungry.
I’m trying the whole saying it to reaffirm it thing. I have to change my ways of thinking.
Does that mean I won’t still order a pizza when I want one, or enjoy a night out with my man? No. But I need to replace bored eating with bored exercising. Or painting. Or blogging. Whatever it is, there needs to be a shift. So I resolve to shift, not diet, because it’s the only thing that is going to work.
My friend Niki sent me a link to myfitnesspal.com I think it’s pretty awesome. You can track your food, exercise, and goals. I think it’s always helpful to see your day to day.
I want to do ALL THE THINGS. I am in Hollywood. I need to do more of the Hollywood things. I need to hike Runyon Canyon. I need to stand outside of a movie premiere and yell I LOVE YOU at Ryan Gosling. I need to live it up while I’m here, because you know what. I AM HERE.
So goals. New things. and just loving life a little bit more. That’s the 2012 resolve.
