Christmas 2011 will forever be the first one I got to spend with Drew. We laughed about how when we first met, we’d be heading off to camp the day after Christmas, the very best present of all was getting to be back around each other, after 6 months away. But this Christmas, this Christmas we were already together, already tangled up in each other.
I cooked an actual Goose. This is not easy. This is worth it.
The Sunset was an epic California Sunset and this was the view from our little house:

The sky was a blaze with pink.

It ended with a blaze of fire.

And just like a movie, Drew and I sipped Champagne and watched It’s a Wonderful Life while eating home made chocolate covered strawberries.
And when the part where he dances the Charleston with Mary came on, he stood up and had me try and teach him out to dance the Charleston, right there in the middle of the candle lit living room.
Sometimes, I can’t believe this beautiful masterpiece is my life.
